Title: Education Coordinator

 

Mandarin Seeds, a Mandarin Chinese language center specializing in Mandarin education for early childhood, is seeking a talented and passionate education coordinator. Reporting to the director, the coordinator will assist in the implementation of instructional materials and curriculum programs, oversee teacher training, assess student performance, and maintain communication with parents/guardians. The education coordinator’s goal is to help create and maintain an effective learning environment for students and teachers.

 

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Manage curriculum, academic programs and schedules

  • Weekly meeting with teachers regarding lesson plans and student progress

  • Observe classes regularly to provide feedback for teachers as well as parents

  • Manage student application and registration

  • Manage the hiring, training, placement, and supervision of teaching staff, and coordinate with business director on HR administration

  • Hands-on assistance for the teachers in the classroom during phase-in

  • Write recommendations for teachers and students for ex-mission or career plan purposes

  • Oversee content development and management of teaching materials, book recommendation/acquisition for library

  • Manage current (registered) student families relations, including sending updates to current parents/guardians

  • Maintain Parent Login page with photo documentations, vocabulary and extra resources for parents/guardians

  • Recommend home support activities for parents/guardians to help the children’s learning

In coordination with Business Coordinator

  • Ensure student safety by tracking allergies and other health status and adhering to safety protocols

  • Keep track and maintain teaching material inventory

  • Assist on planning and execution of events. Marketing events may include open house, education fair, and private tours for prospective families. Community building events may include Chinese New Year party, parent teacher conference day, parent workshops...etc.

  • Provide timely and accurate update on curriculum-related content for company website, marketing/promotional materials

  • Explore potential and steward existing educational partnerships

Qualifications Required

  • Native fluency in conversational Mandarin Chinese

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, with at least 5 years of teaching and/or educational administration experience, preferably in early education

  • Knowledge of early education pedagogy, curriculum development, instructional design, and student safety protocols

  • Leadership skill with good track record of building and managing a team

  • Detail-oriented, capacity for critical thinking with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently

Preferred

  • Bilingual or advanced proficiency in written and verbal Mandarin Chinese

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Child Development, or related field
